Why Do I Keep Watching This?

I absolutely REFUSE to give it a "Season Pass" on my Tivo, instead I just record it week by week manually, & after every episode I tell myself "this is the last one. Now I just found myself adding episode 3 of season 2 to the record list. Weird, I like it but don't like it?

I just finished watching the new episode thinking the exact same thing. I dont know why I keep watching. Watching these broads definitely makes me cringe.
However, I still want to see the next episode!

Yes, same here.

I love them. Imo, they are the most outlandish, insane, crazy yet adorable comedy couple I've ever seen on tv. I was in love with show since epiosde 1. They make such a pair when you lut thier personalities together. They look like they are best friends off the show, so that only enchances the show for me. Love the supporting cast, and its like , every episode is a treasure chest, never know what form the gold will take, but you know its there.

Plus Mega yes to the every episode is gold. It might start one way and boom, you end up somewhere outlandish and laughing your ass off!

Don't know why the OP doesn't like it, it's the funniest show I've seen in ages. So genuine. That said, maybe it's genuine to a younger audience? I'm 27 later this year, am a dude, living in Australia, and this has me excited about comedy again!

Most new comedies were good in season 1 then got boring in season 2, so far Broad City has had 3 hilarious episodes in season 2, showing no signs at all of becoming lame! Love it!
4 and 3 and 2 and one...

4 and 3 and 2 and one... Oh, Man! I was just listening to the Beastie Boys this morning on the way to work, finished the whole album. Zone,"I'll steal your honey like I stole your bike!" 😎

Probably the best part about all of this was the pot head Ted Danson was in the Beastie Boys video with Seth Rogen and a whole bunch of other potheads. Then Seth in Broad City. And then from Bad Neighbors that young guy that did the "The path of the holy righteous man" bit that had me in stitches (http://www.imdb.com/name/nm4273797 - Jerrod Carmichael) and the dentist from Broad City (Hannibal Buress), in it. I think it's a great time to be alive and we're about to see a funky fresh wave of comedy and comedy colabs ahead! So excited!
Almost like we're entering the 90s again, this time by choice of wanting life to be that chill!

one two. one two three yeah 😎

Because this show is AWESOME, you just haven't realized it yet (but you will).

To guess, very few lines they state you see coming, at least I don't.

That and their personalities (like Laverne and Shirley or Oscar and Felix) play off each other very well. Though my references reveal I can't be their demographic but I love the show.

That is pretty weird. I am sure you could make better use of 22 minutes

This is exactly how I feel too! I'm about halfway through Season One. It has its moments, but I keep thinking I don't really like it, and then I watch another episode anyway. I don't understand it either.

I watched season 2 because I liked season 1. But the show got much worse. The situations are just too unrealistic now to be relateable (and, therefore, funny).

It's obvious they ran out of all the good ideas they had - now they are just making stuff up.

reply

What was unrealistic to you? It's not like they were shooting lasers out of their eyes in season 2.

reply

I agree about season 2. I was expecting the characters to be a little more well developed but I only see Ilana becoming more full of her self. The situations fall way short of having any possible comedic effect. None of the secondary characters are remotely interesting and they don't do much to move the weak thread of the plot along. Ilona and Abbi are like 9-year-olds who have discovered the adult world but still act like children.
