Over the top fake accents

Even though the show is obviously fake it is somewhat entertaining. But I just can't take the over the top fake accents. One minute they talk normal and the next they use that awful accent. I am from the south and I have an accent so it's not that I'm making fun of them. They are just putting it on really thick and it sounds ridiculous!! Oh and one other thing...I was playing a game online and had the tv on for noise...the show came on and it was the one where the bigger woman did the photo shoot. I don't understand why she would get half naked on tv in the first place but what the hell was up with the pumpkins on the boobs?? I mean honestly. These women are just too much!!!

TV is mostly about shock value and being over the top especially reality TV. If they just played it straight it wouldn't get much attention. Having some lady with L cup (or whatever) boobs get half naked and put pumpkins on her chest is going to draw in more viewers.

You do realize not everyone in the south has the same accent right? Any state can have numerous accents. also I've heard accents similar or worse than theirs so I don't feel like they're over the top.

That's so true. I was born and raised in NC. I have a friend who grew up right down the street from me went to the same schools and omg her accent is reeeaaallllyy southern. To the point that sometimes I'm like seriously calm it down. She's what people that have never been to the south think we all talk like. I currently work at a hotel and it's funny people seem to always ask me if I'm from up north. (It's really because I'm black and sound 'white', I put that in quotes b/c I hate when people say you sound like a different ethnicity/race). But when I travel to like Cali, people love hearing my southern accent. So you can have very different accents and live in the same city/state.

Of course I know that there are many different accents here in the south. I have my own southern accent. My point is that they switch from a normal Georgian accent to a put on super thick slowed down drawl. It all depends on what drama is taking place at the moment and who they are talking to. Molly does it more than Cynthia but they both do it.

If it was real they wouldn't switch between the thick put on accent and their normal way of talking.
