REFERENCE TO CHILD ABUSE STORY IN LAST EPISODE?? SPOILERS...

In a scene towards the end of "Girl in the Water," Mathias is reading a file with news stories about the discovery of child abuse at the school from the "Devil's Bridge" episode. First he reads a file what appears to be a work evaluation--of a police officer? Alice's father? Someone is described as "diligent," and then he turns to another file or another story and we see the school children and a news story (?) about child abuse, but there's the note "unresolved" ---for the case, for the person whose work file it is? This part is jumbled for me--couldn't quite process it at the time and yes, don't feel like freeze framing it over and over if someone is kind enough to fill me in.
The boss finds Mathias reading and seems disturbed. He also appears to be getting ready to confront Alice's father (a cop under him at one time) in that he carefully pens and closes the jail doors--then THA scene fades out.

I thought perhaps the two were connected, the scene when Mathias reads the files and the incomplete scene when one could assume that something is up with the boss and Alice's father. This all occurs before this episode's case is solved, but towards the end of it.

I did freeze frame and read the documents. It appears officer Iwan Thomas was investigating the abuse case. His yelling "It was you" to the Chief leads us to believe he's the rapist. Then we have the Chief possibly going to silence him.

Thanks for the info! Nice that you did the real "leg-work" on this. Seems a pretty significant piece and I am sure others will in future benefit as I have from your work.
