Break a leg Sully. Stapleton has been nominated for Best Actor in a film. I have only seen snippets of the film and it looks great. Sully's performance is immense. I am hoping that this award gives it the credit it deserves and that it will help with the distribution for world wide cinema release.
shareSullivan is fantastic as usual. I feel sorry for him having to act beside Alex Russel who was terrible. I honestly don't know how on earth that bloke got the part, ruined the whole film for me.
shareHow was Alex Russell so terrible? I thought he did a fine job. He wasn't a scene-stealer like Stapleton but he played his character arc to the T. Going from passive, back to aggressive when he taps into his old self... his crying scenes were genuine.. etc. Maybe I am biased because I think he's absolutely gorgeous? I dunno. Still, I think you're exaggerating a little when you say he did a HORRIBLE job.
shareHe also had good chemistry with Stapleton's character. It takes good actors to create the kind of chemistry they had, especially when the actors themselves are heterosexual.
shareAlex Russel had the chemistry of a shoebox. Dont know if it was his acting inexperience or instructions from the director but either way the performance did not work.
