"Living the dream"

I thought that it was really dumb when Oliver fell on the Arcturion and didn't really notice it. He thought that it was a rock when it was plainly a gadget.

It seemed to be rectangular and have a shiny black finish, which doesn't look much like most natural rocks.

Oliver and Kaz should have immediately recognized it as a gadget, though at that time there would have been no reason for them to assume it was an important mystical powerful artifact from outer space. There was no reason for them to think that they needed to guard it safely from evildoers (which would have made things too easy for them in future episodes) but they should have thought that one of the students might have dropped it in the hole.

So they should have turned it in to the school lost and found. Which of course is not secured against super villains and their lackeys. So a later episode could have had a race between heroes and villains to get to the lost and found first, and maybe a fight which Kaz and Oliver would have to hide from the normos somehow. And they could have found that since nobody had claimed it the Arcturion had been thrown away and they could have raced to villains to the dump to search for it. Or maybe someone at the school had falsely claimed it and was experimenting to see what it could do.

But since the Arcturion was left at a hole in a construction site it could end up buried there or perhaps carted away with excess dirt and rocks. Thus it might turn out very hard to figure out where it is. The heroes will probably have to use an Arcturion-detector to find it instead of figuring out where it is, an inferior plot.
