Last season this was my favorite Disney show, which was weird because I'm not into superheroes or comic books. It was over-the-top punny and freewheeling like A.N.T. Farm, only much better. Season 2 started to falter because the arc with evil Skylar and the Annihilator went on too long. Mighty Med quality has picked up again, but the suits treat it as an after-thought, running 4 new episodes over a month, then nothing for a month and a half, then a handful of new ones and another drought. An active series on a network with no consistent premiere week (as in start in September, end in May with reruns all summer) can maintain interest only so long with no new episodes for weeks.
It feels like they've given up on Mighty Med.
But this is my gripe about Disney XD and why I seldom watch: Too many new shows (usually animated) in the last year, but with limited runs. Last year The New York Times, profiling one of the new Star Wars series, referred to the "little watched Disney XD." I feel like Disney still doesn't know what to do with the channel, other than aim it at tween boys.
Yeah, I know filankey is not a word, but it's gonna catch on.
