First Episode

Last night was the first episode of this new series focusing on African wildlife and doing so in a way that offers new insight into animals with which we are already familiar. It was centred on desert life in the Kalahari and Namib deserts; the latter is the oldest in the world.

There were three fantastic pieces last night:
- two adult male giraffes doing battle over territory and a female
- the social (night) life of the black rhinoceroses
- an armoured cricket with a lust for meat.

Some great footage. Next week's episode will feature East Africa.

I see this has an IMDb rating of 9.7 already - if it continues as it did last night then it will deserve its high rating.

It was amazing.

I was in awe of some of the shots and there were some very memorable scenes.

A great start to the series. I hope the subsequent episodes are as good as the first one, I'll tune in every week for this.

I also loved the first scene with the meerkats, and the spider rolling down the sand dune. Great stuff.
