I'd never heard of it.

Doesn't look like it according to IMDB.
On the release date page for it it says it was only shown at the Tribeca Film Festival on April 19, 2014.

And I think it was just released on PPV or online or something because it's now showing up on pirate sites.

box office mojo says it was in 1 theater for a few weeks.
