...hmm, not bad. I agree with the other threads that it follows some of the usual conventions of the genre - the socially awkward, but brilliant crime scene investigator with the far less socially awkward and more relate-able partner (the Sherlock Holmes and Dr. Watson templates, perhaps), the usual red herrings and false leads, and, the moment near the climax when the threat comes home to the heroes.

Still, I did enjoy the historical backdrop, and the general atmosphere of murder during the Blitz.

We enjoyed it and wanted more. We just finished all 17 seasons of Silent Witness, except season 8. First rule for us is do we like the actors, then the story, the the believability of the story. One similar to Waterfront is a series out of Canada called Murdoch's Mysteries. Believability is weak but it is innovative out of time . Excellent show 'for us.'

Murdoch Mysteries is really excellent except when they try and mix in modern social commentary. Thankfully that is rare.

Not a bad little diversion...decent enough for a one-off. but I'm not sure about a continuing series.

We hope you enjoyed it.

I enjoyed it.

This Yank is also enjoying Father Brown and SPY. SPY cracks me up.

As two Americans slightly addicted to any shows produced by BBC or Acorn Media, my wife and I had higher expectations for this one. Our concensus was, if the Brits had an ABC television network, this would probably be in its lineup.

Agreed, pd78w. Did anyone notice how PBS blurred the breasts during an autopsy scene? Such hypocrisy from the network who wants to sex up Masterpiece (new Poldark, Sherlock, etc.).
