Is this a pilot for a TV series?

I hope so. I enjoyed it.

That's what I've been trying to find out. Watched the first (and only?) episode on PBS, waiting to see if there will be more?

Same here. They established all the characters really well, and I'd love to see this go on.

And the blonde is a total cutie-pie with an impish look on her face, so there's that, too.

:-)

I want the doctor to take your picture so I can look at you from inside as well.

Retro detective series seem to be all the rage

If it was a pilot I hope they choose a different female lead for the series - this one just didn't fit

Half Irish, Half German - hated by all. But at least I'm not Welsh

I don't see it being repeated. It had a good premise but was full of cliches and bad acting.

Far better is "Foyle's War" which covers much of the same ground. Foyle's War was cancelled because one executive named Simon Shaps didn't like it. After he was fired for similar decisions, Foyle's War was brought back. Thank God.

If you like blondes who help solve WWII crimes then Foyle has Honeysuckle Weeks.

I don't know everything. Neither does anyone else

I'm American, but I watch a lot of British mysteries and crime procedurals -- Silent Witness, Lewis, Midsomer Murders, George Gently, and Endeavour to name but a few. If I had to choose, I'd say Foyle's War is my favorite of them all (although Lewis is very, very good). Michael Kitchen is spectacular.

And I enjoyed Murder on the Home Front as well. Most of the criticism here is reaching for a level of perfection not likely to be found in most television productions.

It did seem like an excellent launching for a series. Others here have directed to
Foyles War... going to check it out.
