What did I just watch?

The remote was right next to me, I had no sound reason not to turn this off but I didn't. I couldn't. This movie wasn't entertaining but I could have turned it off easily. Why? Let me explain. What do you get when you mix a hallmark Christmas movie with a "thriller" plot? No wait, what do you get when you mix a couple fairly good actors with an entire cast of extras with way too many lines and a background soundtrack that was lifted from a "murder she wrote" episode? This movie... this is what you get. Don't watch it, don't be tempted by the trickster actor Ray Liotta that you know will deliver "Good Fellas" quality acting again eventually. He won't...

While this movie was wasting time with endless inanity and long shots of that kid running through woods and down a highway tossing firecrackers at cars an actual story could have been unfolding with plenty of drama, mood and depth of characters.

But sadly that's not what happened.

Waht did you just watch? You watched a steaming pile of turkey turd unfold, that's what you watched. That's waht I watched. But I'm the type that is committed to movies so much so that I tend to 'see it through to the bitter end', because once I start something it has to nearly kill me before I'll entertain the notion of quitting halfway through.

What's your excuse? :)

I was skimming through the channels on my Roku last night and came across this but didn't put it on. I had to check it out first on IMDB and am glad I did. I found the original from 1954, about 15 years ago and have enjoyed watching it ever since so when I saw a remake was made, I was a little excited but apprehensive. Glad I stopped here first and didn't waste my time!
