I think they made this strictly as a "dramatic story" problem is there's nothing dramatic about it plus the story is lackluster
sorry folks but i'm pretty sure most americans will dislike this film, the violence is childs play
there are only a handful of prison movies that had success with great acting and a storyline this one falls way short, avoid if u a prison movie fan
I enjoyed this movie very much. Both jack and Ben were amazing. Rupert did very well too with the little role he had. I am curious which prison movies you think we're better?

I could keep naming prison movies for days that was better than starred up, and I was actually looking forward to starred up, it's not total trash but it's rating in my eyes is only around a 3 and if you're a fan of any prison movie listed above you might find starred up to be lackluster
I thought the same about the movie offender to be honest but slightly put it above starred up which is why I listed it, and it's also a movie about uk prison

You need to reassess this, watch it again, maybe, I don't know...
To me it was a gripping, tense, scary viewing experience with amazing acting, and completely true to life (prison life) dialogue and situations. It's practically a documentary, re-enacted, edited for impact, and with all the names changed.

I have only seen a prophet which I loved. I will check the others out. I still liked starred up. I would give it 4/4. But I am a fan of jack and David. I also really enjoy movies that just throw you in the middle of a characters life. With little set up and little expostion. So this was right up my alley. We are all entitled to our opinions. Cheers for the other movie recommendations.

I'm not saying the acting wasn't great I was saying that the movie was highly boring I already forgot about this movie
if you have the same taste as me you look for grit and ultra violence in prison movies this one fell short if I recall right, proving for me at the least it had nothing that sticks in my head period.
I have to agree,I mean maybe it's just me...but I don't exactly like watching movies where I have to see some random dudes cock. I watch movies for quality and something that can get my attention and any movie that feels the need to open with tits,cocks or a sex scene has already lost me.
