What was everyone's favourite aspect of this film?

I thought it truly deserved its rating

fabby wrote, " I thought it truly deserved its rating "

But now you don't think it does? What changed?

TxMike, we really must stop meeting like this. Lord, you don't want me to adopt you do you? TxMike follows Flabulous count: 9

But you didn't address my question. By use of the language you chose you said you thought (past tense) that it deserved (past tense) its rating. So why do you not think it does anymore? That is puzzling. As a fabulous writer I trust that you mean exactly what you write.

But I DO understand why you chose to start with "was was"...

Make a choice, to take a chance, to make a difference.

Why do you keep referring to him as "fabby"? His name is Flabulous.

The more you know...

The story was OK but I've seen better father-son reconciliation films. I'm struggling to think of a better prison drama though

It was explosively exiting, when discussions turn nasty in an instant. I'd have to watch again to check whether that comes from the editing - I suspect it does. Violence in films is realistic when it's shown like this, sort of inevitable but at the same time, on the spur of the moment, not signalled in advance.

I've never been in prison (I'm from the UK) but I suspect it would be like this - a lot of procedure and jargon, but a bit more 'normal' than you'd expect. Even the kingpin is shown as an ordinary guy (having reached his position by the level of calm threat he can display, and some considerable sophistication) rather than some pantomime villain, like a cockney wide-boy type.

So I guess it was the realism that made this an enjoyable film for me. Plus the imaginative level of swearing we are treated to.

I thought it was very realistic and filmed more like a documentary than anything else---it was also very dark, gritty and disturbing to watch in some places, especially the graphic violence. The documentary look and feel was my favorite aspect of the whole film, pretty much. Very good naturalistic performances too, from the entire cast. It was interesting to see Rupert Friend (currently starring in HITMAN:AGENT 47) in a British film with his real accent (and looking good with a nice haircut and mustache.)

My favorite part was when they showed Jack's tinkle in the shower!!!
His tinkle was bouncing up and down!!!

I thought the Mr. Johnson joke was the best part of the film but this may be because I could not understand 99% of what was being said in the movie. I did not have subtitles available and so yeah in the future hopefully I get to see it again and be able to understand all that is being said.

1. I really liked the whole first sequence when we follow Eric into his cell. The way it was filmed so close, it almost felt as if I was there.

2. The group sessions, people bonding and growing, loved that.
