Alan Clarke's Scum For Our Generation

This film as far as I'm concerned is up there with Alan Clarke's greatest. I would pay to see a sequel following Ben Mendelsohn's journey after his transfer. Spinning door shot allegory at the end was beautiful. One of my favourite things in it though was Peter Ferdinando who seems to be a chameleon, never ever looks the same in any film he's in. I think he's en route to being our own British Harvey Keitel after Hyena.

Far too much hate on these boards for every film, you all seem to be little bowls of negativity. Jack O'Connell is a tour de force.

^This. Everything you say, RAW (is it really you?), plus the tense scenes in the group were just amazingly well done.

I watched Scum (1979) quite recently. Starred Up instantly reminded me of that.
