Must be watched at least 2 times if not more.

First viewing of a Jamin Winans films: what the fck, what the fck, what the fck?!
Second viewing of a Jamin Winans films: you can actually enjoy it without trying to guess what the fck is really going on.

Frame is better second time around. Still saying WTF a lot, but if you only watch it once, you've missed out.

By the end, I pretty much think I'd gotten all of the main stuff. However:

1) The second time will be hugely more emotional now that we know Alex's back story,

2) There are still some puzzles of the metaphysics to work out, and, going along with that hand-in-glove,

3) There are still metaphorical connections to grasp.

This is the sort of immensely intelligent sci-fi filmmaking that has heretofore been the sole domain of Christopher Nolan and Shane Carruth (Richard Kelly having gone off the rails after he was unable to get his overly ambitious vision for Southland Tales to materialize properly). Winans has now joined their rank, as has Darren Paul Fisher (Frequencies).

Prepare your minds for a new scale of physical, scientific values, gentlemen.
