Open Your Eyes

The scenario of this film is similar to that of the above-named great 1997 / 1999 (in the U.S.) flick, that, along with Gattaca, really launched the modern age of sf cinema. But, of course, so is any movie where characters are unaware of the true nature of their reality. In fact, you get that again in 1998 with Dark City, and twice in 1999 with The Matrix and The Thirteenth Floor! (What was in the water back then!)

There is, however, a key moment in this movie that exactly matches a key moment in Open Your Eyes.

So I chuckled when I saw that Alex's boss was named "Amenabar" -- a tip of the hat to Open Your Eyes' director.

Prepare your minds for a new scale of physical, scientific values, gentlemen.
