Refreshing look at children's health problems

This documentary, while perhaps not the most informative, has a lot going for it. It's a very touching story of 4 young people that have become overweight and are ridiculed by their family members and peers for it.

My favorite thing about this film was incorporating how vital parents' roles are in their children's health. I was very troubled by Moy's father, who continually put him down for his size, despite the fact that the father seemed to be blessed with a fast metabolism (judging by his size, lack of exercise shown, and poor diet choices). I was pleasantly surprised, however, when his father began to see the error in his parenting ways towards the end of the film, and started finding ways to be active that his son would actually enjoy and want to be a part of.

I was also very moved by the Si Se Puede program and the pains that the counselor went through to make it happen for those girls. It's already hard enough to eat right when you have the money and access to healthy foods; I can't imagine trying to do it without either of those things.

Great watch. Definitely shed a tear or two for those kids. I hope they can find a way to be healthy, and more importantly, happy.
