Not too bad for the genre

Actually, for the genre, it's not too bad. That's not saying a lot, but it's still better. There are a lot of bad "End-times as interpreted by certain Evangelicals preached as Biblical truth" movies out there, starting with "A Thief in the Night" series from the early 70's. And most recently those awful "Left Behind" and Michael York series.

Yes the effects are cheesy, but they always are in low-budget B films so you can't really slight them for that. This and the first movie are much better in the way of effects than in a LOT of low budget disaster films.

To second that and agree with you id like to further say that it is extremely hard for Christian movies to be anything more than B rated productions. And when they are(like Noah or some of the other Hollywood ones) they are a poor representation of scripture and the truth or they paint us as bad or judgmental when in fact we are the ones judged every day for our faith or even posts like this one. And while this used to infuriate me, I realized this was futile because of where we are. Of course it will be hard for Christ-follower movies to get into Hollywood or be presented without mockery and without ridicule because we are still in the world, but not of it. People will never understand until they are called themselves and have a personal, guilt-free(no matter what they may have done or continue to do), loving relationship with our Friend.
I thought these movies were excellent given their budget and hope there are more coming. Mind you, it may not be completely accurate because it is still made my imperfect humans but that is ok. It still gives some great insight and even some thought-provoking conversations that you can go and research in the Word yourself.
To anyone out there that doesn't have a personal relationship with our Savior Jesus I urge you not to think of everyone as religious, hypocritical, or even Christian because those titles were given by man. It is not our faith that makes us hypocritical, it is our sin and I for one will continue to be the biggest screw up until I get to go home. It is not about doing good or doing right or following the laws of the bible down to a tee because that will NEVER happen. I'm just so thankful that there is someone out there that loves me anyways and will always see my true potential even when I don't. I pray that anyone coming to this board or any other board for that matter will not see all the mean and even argumentative posts that religious people post, but the heartfelt and Christ-like posts that will hopefully help someone realize that God isn't calling us to be perfect in this world. He is just calling us to be his and to be loved even when it feels impossible that some 'big guy in the sky' could love us and have an individual relationship with each and every one of us. Be encouraged and stay positive!
