Legality issue

Since the kidnappers use force, fear and coercion and the victim was convinced that she was being abducted by criminals, the shrink and his assistants had broken the law. It cannot be legal to kidnap anybody even if this is supposed to be for their own good, since you cannot deprive anybody of their liberty for therapeutic purposes without going through the correct procedures. The "kidnappers" never considered that she might kill herself or that she might badly injure or kill one of them in a bid to escape. The object she used to break the padlock could equally have served as a concealed weapon. For this reason, I find this movie rather unconvincing and the plot quite unimaginative, and typical of ill-written made-for TV movies that are the norm today.
