...you are an absolute dumbass. That may sound harsh, but really if you think this movie sucks you clearly don't know *beep* about good movies and film making. This is one of the greatest films of all time and it deserved best picture. Really hearing jackasses saying this movie sucks is just so arrogant that it hurts my soul,because they clearly aren't a true movie goer and probably didn't even give this movie a good enough go to see what a great masterpiece it truly is.

Did the thought ever cross your mind that different people watch movies for different reasons? You are raging hard, because the casual movie crowd that wants to be entertained did not like the movie and did not respect it, while you are doing the same thing to them. You do not respect their perspective and they do not respect yours.

When someone who enjoys Jason Statham movies watches Birdman, what do you expect? And when you watch a Jason Statham movie, what is your expectation?

The one thing we all have to learn is that human beings are different for different reasons. It all starts at respecting the other side.

That's a great way to put it but I think that some people have opinions that deserve more respect than others. People that have actually studied film as an art versus the average action movie fans, for example. One has a more credible, educated opinion and therefore, it should hold more weight. It doesn't make anyone wrong about how they feel. It just means that some people are more right than others.

I agree that the opinion of a specialist deserves more credibility, but I feel like of all the people who watched this, they would be the ones who would even more feel left thinking about how the director went way overboard (although interesting, but whats really innovating or mind-boggling?) trying to accommodate them, thus being pretentious. And then there is the story-line, which is downright boring...

Check it, as Ali G once said, here's her acting (some recent IMDB feature photos, Oscars or something - not even bothered with it, it's just a clown-show in recent years); and then it's her acting like an idiot:

There's no reason to -even- comment, really. I get that she might've been young(er) and gullable, to take on something as stupid as this; perhaps she thought that she's cute, or something, how she can get away with it (who knows). However, Michael Keaton, Naomi Watts, Edward Norton... I don't understand, taking hard drugs at their age. Like, wasn't it enough to see Zach Galifianakis on the cast list. Whatever, why am I even here. xD

Edit: Dang it, had to edit: mrb27896 ^^ yeah, graduated from a film-school (way back in 2000) and it doesn't change anything.

You know, I like all kinds of films, but have a preference for the arthouse films. Before I saw this film I was so excited with all the hype going on, but after.... I get what is supposed to be interesting, but it felt sooo pretentious.

Actually, I found "Birdman" was not funny enough to be a comedy and not serious enough to be a drama. While the story and direction were highly original and difficult, I don't believe these are good enough reasons to award this film "Best Picture." That should belong to "American Sniper," which is one of the best-executed films, and possibly the best war film of all time.

I know it is highly divisive due to the horde of pussyliberals who disagree with the Iraq war, those people who are what the film describes as "sheep," those who probably took offense to the notion that they themselves are too cowardly and weak to defend themselves. But these are poor reasons for giving the award to any other film that came out that year.

Pump the brakes. It's a decent movie but it's not even in the top 50 best war films.

First I'm not a liberal and I don't agree with the war, this doesn't make one a pussy as you so elequently put it... second American sniper was really good but it wasn't even Eastwood's best, even though I do think Cooper deserved more credit than he got.

Birdman was a really good movie and deserved the awards it received if for nothing else the technical difficulty it took to act and direct the movie. Not every freaking decision is a political move or statement.... sometimes people are just artists, sometimes it's just about respecting other people's art.
