Since I'm new to the anime. Can anyone explain that? Is it just a coincidence or does it have a hidden meaning? I'm planning on reading the manga soon, so, please, not too much spoilers. :)

Nothing indicates that the Attack on Titan world is a version of ours.
And trust, those bits that you highlighted are in reality much, much, much smaller than the actual continents...

I'm sure those are also lakes or something.

Jepp. The title of the pilot is basically a warning, that it is earth in 10.000 years time.

It also specifies that the Asian race is almost extinct and Mikasa is the last one left. Most people believe that the story is somewhere in Germany, middle Europe. The fauna and the size of the radius inside the walls is approx half of germany..
