The moment he (edited because of spoilers) show lost all of its appeal

WARNING HEAVY SPOILER ALERT!

SERIOUSLY, SPOILERS AHEAD

I am watching amazing story, a war tale, people are dying left and right, soldiers are *beep* themselves with fear, everyone just try to live thru this war. Our determined hero joined the military to fight titans and to his shock he sees that...pretty much nobody wants that. This was on goddamn MASH level of thought, no special heroes, no superpowers, just ordinary guys trying their best to do what is right... and then he changes into a titan and I am like... okay, I am done, thank you very much for ruinning the tone, another chosen one story, go f yourself.

Firs of all, could you please not be a dick? You're spoiling everyone else who hasn't seen the show with your thread title, so at least edit it to something else.

Second, there's a reason why he can turn into a Titan, but of course you can't possibly know that because:

a) you drop the story like an idiot for such a stupid reason, without knowing the developments that follow;
b) it hasn't been animated yet, so unless you follow the manga you wouldn't know anything at this moment.

And if you really want to know, no, he isn't a chosen one. He's actually very expendable.

So, yeah. You're completely wrong, and that's what happens when you have no idea what you're talking about.

Fine, fine, I'll leave! But first I'm going to bother these peanuts! Hmm? Yes? Hmm? HMM?

fixed that, thank you for heads up, it was careless of me.

Sorry but I just don't care, "what happens next". Making our hero a special snowflake just ruined entire experience of watching a bunch of ordinary guys. It is like watching Saving private Ryan only to discover one of the squad members can turn into a tank... sorry no.
So, yeah. You're completely wrong, and that's what happens when you have no idea what you're talking about.

Maybe you should not be so confrontational, if you like to watch the stories of special snowflakes holding the keys to humanity salvation be my guest but for me it is tired and boring formula, for the first time I thought that this is going to be different but no, same shtick.

Guess you didn't read what I wrote and/or just chose to ignore it because you don't want to admit that you're wrong.

The main character isn't special, and Humanity's salvation doesn't depend on him.

That's simply what you wrongly assumed, but whatever. You could at least do some research first, otherwise you just sound ignorant.

It's like trying to complain about a book and its characters when you've only read a single chapter, or a movie only after watching 5 minutes. It doesn't make sense, and the criticism is worthless because you don't know everything.

The main character didn't chose to have that power. The power was stolen and given to him, and there was nothing he could do about it. Likewise, someone could easily do the same thing to the main character, and steal the power from him. He isn't "special", he could very well die and the story would go on just the same.

There was even a moment where Eren asked to be killed when he learned of this, because he never asked for it and it was wrong of X to steal the power that didn't belong to him in the first place and give it to Eren.

It is not about being right or wrong, I said the show lost its appeal for me, for me get it? We are exchanging opinions not trying to find objective truth.
The main character didn't chose to have that power.

So what? What difference does it make?
There was even a moment where Eren asked to be killed when he learned of this, because he never asked for it and it was wrong of X to steal the power that didn't belong to him in the first place and give it to Eren

Dear god I am so glad I did not watched it. That must be the stupidest thing I have read in a while. "Kill me, this power should not belong to me". This kid went thru hell and back and now he is ready to die because this power should not be his. ๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜‚
Glad to see that I quit in the right moment.

Yeah, it's something called "character development", but I'm guessing you have no idea what that is seeing as you have a knack for leaving things unfinished.

How surprising.

Character development? Please, it is the same in every anime, from Bleach, Dragon Ball Z to this, it is meant to show that character is fair, fearless and honorable, what it does show however is failure to understand human mind, especially those humans who fought in combat. And since you presumed that I have a knack for leaving things unfinished let me presume something about you: You are basicly a kid that can do nothing but get defensive when their beloved franchise prove to be yet another run of the mill cartoon with only difference being far more bloody and generally filled with gore. Just so you know, that does not make the show mature.
And this "Kill me I don't deserve this" is reverse character development, it is character regression. Except they keep putting this in anime to show how their character is mature and fair.
But like I said, if you want keep watching this and have fun, for me it was yet another proof that making a good, consistent series is almost impossible in this genre.

Are you an idiot? It's "the same" because those are all Shลnen, and Shลnen always follows the same formula. Everyone knows this. If you want adult stuff, Seinen is what you should be looking for.

what it does show however is failure to understand human mind, especially those humans who fought in combat.

Again, worthless words from someone who has no idea what he's talking about. You didn't see nor read the rest of the story, so you making those claims is completely idiotic.

You are basicly a kid

There we go, typical troll attack behavior when they can't admit that they're in the wrong.

I'm not getting defensive over anything. I don't care if you liked it, hated it, or dropped it. What bothers me is that you're claiming a lot of things that aren't true, because you're apparently an idiot who seems to know better than everyone else even though you didn't even watch the whole thing, and can't possibly know the whole story and development that follows.

Do you read half a book and complain about the ending? Do you drop a movie halfway through and complain about a character, without even knowing the resolution...?

Just because you dropped it, doesn't mean that you're right about this or that, and trust me, you're not.

This is nothing but a piss-poor attempt at criticizing a show you didn't even bother watching, which in itself is pretty damn stupid and idiotic.

You can complain all you want about why you dropped it, but if you start making stuff up it's only natural that someone who clearly knows better puts you in your place.

Look, if you say you dropped the series at that particular point, I'll just say this: Eren transforms in chapter 9, and currently there's 84 chapters.

You're basically claiming things and spewing sh_t, when in fact you dropped the series when it was starting to develop and actually "start" for real.

Again, I don't care that you dropped it. The problem is that you're saying stuff about the main character, the story as a whole, and the development without having a f_cking clue, and that just makes you look really, really dumb.

You clearly don't know how the story and its characters developped in the last 6 years, so why would think it would be ok for you to comment on something that's completely beyond you...?

Once again, you can complain all you want, but if you say "the character is like this" when he's not, and "the story is that" when it's not... It's stupid. At least have the decency to look things up before blindly assuming things.

You call me a kid, yet you're the one who seems to think it would be a good idea to run your mouth about something you didn't even watch in the first place, and then struggle to make a point based on wrong assumptions and false information.

How childish is that?

Just so you know, that does not make the show mature.

And where did I say that this show was mature...? Seems like you're starting to put words in my mouth in an attempt to make a point... classic.

if you want keep watching this and have fun, for me it was yet another proof that making a good, consistent series is almost impossible in this genre.

Lol, really?
You're trying to talk about consistency when you dropped the series not even 1/3 into it?

Please, go troll another board.

Dammmnnnnn. You owned the OP, and it was amazing.

Well done sir. At the rate the Titans were moving, the last stronghold would've fallen halfway through season 1. Then what? We get a story about them surviving like the extremely drawn out and repetitive story like the walking dead? No thanks.

reply

To be honest, though. I have the same opinion as you.

reply

OP is a f..king idiot.

He's like those fools who saw only the first episode and went like, "oh, its just a typical revenge story with the son wanting to avenge the death of his mum. Boring." NO ITS F..KIN NOT ACTUALLY.

I hate people who judge things by one episode or two. Watch the whole f..king thing and read the rest and then make up your f..king mind. Christ.

Love breeds sacrifice, which breeds hatred. Then you can know pain - Pain
