Is it complete yet?

I watched the first season in 2013 and was frustrated by the fact that it was only a partial adaptation. Does season 2 comnplete the story/ character arcs or does it end on another cliff hanger?

Well, of course it was a partial adaptation considering that the original source material (manga) isn't over yet.

Season 1 covered chapters 1-33, Season 2 will probably cover up to chapter 70, the manga is currently at chapter 89, and the manga might end with 110 chapters (towards the end of 2018), so Season 3 will probably be the last one.

As for Season 2, there is of course a lot of development, character and plot-wise.

Fine, fine, I'll leave! But first I'm going to bother these peanuts! Hmm? Yes? Hmm? HMM?

Season 2 will most likely adapt the next two story arcs which do answer a lot of questions. Of cause if you payed very, very, very close attention in Season 1 you'll know the answers already since the foreshadowing for a lot of the questions you'll probably have are right under your very nose which is one of the things I love about AOT. The twist and turns don't simply come out of nowhere. They were set up before hand.

Anyway, things to look forward to…

1) You'll find out about the Colossal and Armoured Titan.
2) You'll find out what happened to Eren's father.
3) You'll find out why Annie wanted to capture Eren.
4) Pretty much all the supporting characters will get their character development like Krista, Ymir, Connie, Sasha and Levi.
5) Expect kick ass action sequences in the first part of the story against titans and more a political approach with the second as we learn about the human side of things too.
6) Other twist and turns will be revealed and used as set-up for the next story arcs.
