Yeah, if you like to see lots of shooting and hacking to kill people point-blank with blood flying everywhere. I found it to be a bit excessively graphic, but I also know many viewers like that.

Thanks for the warning!

i didn't find it to be at all excessive. just realistic in the confines of the story. it wasn't terribly prominent, either. the majority of the film establishes tension in other ways.

Agreed... she actually ran and hid through so much of the movie that I was starting to get impatient for her to fight back. I loved it when she started to; and there's far worse violence on TV these days. You can watch zombies eat faces on basic cable.

What I had difficulty with was the last 15 minutes. Unless I missed something she hadn't had sword lessons. I didn't even see anything to suggest it -- she didn't say anything by the old man's grave, like "I'll miss his sword lessons" or something, did she? Her skills were WAY too good. I could believe her dead-eye shooting, but the expert swording was a little much for me to swallow. And the flying away in the shiny plane was even more unbelievable. That, at least, had a little bit of ground laid for it, but even so, a half-starved teenage girl in a post apocalyptic wasteland, eking out a subsistence existence, knows how to swing a sword AND fly a plane?

Otherwise I enjoyed this for what it was, and it folded in neatly to the book I am reading, which is set in a similar California.
