Rumor Is It Was Suicide

I've never watched the show or anything but I heard about the death and then I heard about the rumor it was suicide via carbon monoxide poisoning. I don't know the history of the family or what they were going through but suicides via carbon monoxide are quite common.

UPDATE: The deaths were ruled accidental. But who knows.

You just made up this rumor.

No. There were a total of 3 people in the car that died from carbon monixide poisoning. When car exhaust comes into the car it is not pleasant. It causes people to choke and cough and causes headaches. Generally, the people who die in a car from carbon monoxide are suicides and the people force themselves to stay in the car until they pass out and then die. A normal, non-suicidal person will quickly exhit the car even if they don't know what's happeneing, just to get fresh air.

Carbon monixide deaths from cars are not like deaths in the home from carbon monixide build up. The exhaust is horrible. While in the home a person may not realize what is happening.

And I recently read the story of a grandmother that killed herself and her grandchildren in a car via carbon monixide poisoning because she didn't want the kids to go back to their parents.

So no, I didn't make this up. This actually happens more often than people realize. Do I know it was 100% a suicide? No, I don't. I'm just saying it wouldn't surprise me that the rumors were true.

UPDATE: The deaths were ruled accidental. But who knows? Like I said, death via carbon monoxide from car exhaust is not pleasant. I find it very hard to imagine someone staying in the car, especially if they are awake, and not trying to get out.

You're very wrong about carbon monoxide poisoning. Though it can cause headaches, dizziness, and nausea, there is no coughing or choking. People do not know that it is happening -- that's exactly why carbon monoxide is so dangerous. It is odorless, and it is fatal in rather low amounts. By the time you realize you're feeling sick, you are likely at the point of no return (unless EMS is right there for some reason).

What you're describing as "unpleasant" is the car exhaust itself, which contains hundreds of other chemicals and is smoky and foul-smelling. We've all smelled exhaust before and while it's not pleasant, it's also not something that would cause us to leave our car. Shane was probably gunning the engine, trying to get his truck out. The smell of exhaust would be expected, and unfortunately, most people don't think about their tailpipe being blocked in that situation.

Thank you Dasher11. I too also knew this, but I kept quiet because I didn't feel like getting in an argument with a know it all.

To summarize, the body has no defenses to detect carbon monoxide poisoning, unlike carbon dioxide which is very easy for the body to detect.

You are dead wrong and Dasher11 can't read. I clearly wrote that car exhaust is not like say carbon monixide build up in the home and that it causes one to choke, cough, and have intense headaches. So stop supporting illiterate people.

You must be illiterate. I clearly wrote that car exhaust is not like a build up of carbon monixide in the home and that it causes choking, coughing, and intesne headaches. Learn to read before replying.

There's no need to get so defensive and rude. You're wrong, plain and simple.

reply

Nope. Not getting defensive or rude. You simply cannot read. My replies are here for anyone to read yet you seem to think that I didn't write what I wrote "because you say so".

reply

No, your replies are simply wrong. A car filling with carbon monoxide does not fill with smoke. If that were true, there would never be accidental deaths from carbon monoxide in a vehicle. Yet, every winter, several happen. It is the same as in a house... you cannot detect the carbon monoxide.

If you want to go ahead and believe the BS you made up, go ahead. You're the one who made up this "rumor" in the first place.

reply

Please post where I wrote that a car fills with smoke. I clearly wrote it fills with exhaust, which smells horrible and cause people to cough, choke, and causes horrible headaches. If you can't post where I wrote that a car fills with smoke then STFU and go away.

Suicide? 3 people died. That doesn't sound like suicide and i've seen no evidence to suspect it wasn't an accident.

reply

Multiple suicides happen. Just a year or so ago a grandmother and grandfather killed themselves and the kids because they didn't want the kids to go back to their parents. They did it via carbon monoxide in the car. However, if you read the message this thread was written before they announced it was an accident.

Dude, if they wanted to die they could have just stuck a sock in the exhaust pipe without having to leave their driveway. But I'm done trying to reason with you, you're clearly just a troll.
