Is this the most pointless sequel ever made?
?
shareNo.
Might be. The first one was decent, but this looks to be almost a clone of the first one unfortunately. No interest in seeing it in theaters.
shareNo, I went to the London premiere last night and it's a wonderful carry on from the first and greatly enjoyable. Those who aren't interested in the characters or the genre of the film simply need not see it, rather than whine about how "unnecessary" it is. Because are all films supposed to be "necessary"? They exist as a form of escapism and to someone somewhere, a sequel to any film is greatly welcomed, as this film was for me. I have been waiting for this film since the day the companion piece (as they prefer to call it) was announced, and it was lovely and amusing and certainly did not disappoint. I think people should really avoid thinking of this as a "sequel" and more as a companion piece, because it really is just the first film's story being allowed to expand further, a bonus. And seeing as the first grossed nearly $137,000,000 worldwide, and ranked the fourth highest grossing film in 2012 in the UK, people obviously enjoyed it, so why should they not appreciate seeing the charming characters once more?
It was a delightful film and I think people should stop turning their noses up at the word sequel and just sit back and enjoy.
Well said!
shareI'm always afraid they'll do something with the characters I don't like. I loved the first one, so will definitely check it out. Especially, after what you had to say about it.
shareThank you for your lovely comments and review. I adored the first movie and found the characters so very charming that I want to visit with them more. You made me even more anxious to see this "companion piece". And with the addition of Richard Gere...well!

After enjoying the first film so much, I am very pleased with this follow on film. I love the characters, the setting, the humor, even the frailties and the aging make them even more endearing. Looking forward to seeing it soon.
NO it is not.
Paul Blart: Mall Cop II with Kevin James comes out soon. I'm not even kidding.
Yes its rubbish. Loved the first but this is diabolical. Over acting, poor acting, boring predictable story, poor direction, I could go on. Also it really is time for these lot to retire and enjoy their over paid vast wealth before its too late. A complete waste of my hard earned 10 quid. The first one had heart, this was just soap opera superficial clap trap and the young guy owner should get the 'over acting' award for 2015. Unbelievable.
shareYes, one of the most pointless. I gave it a 5, sorry to say:(
