Such potential wasted - shame on the director and writers

All the actors were wonderful but the whole movie was tedious and focused on all the wrong things for too long. The first movie made me feel that old age can be wonderful, can be a new start again, can hold hope. The second movie was about the young and their turmoil, of which we get a lot of from a lot of movies already, and then, death. Nothing in the middle. No love story - just more of Evelyn's balking at a gorgeous male suitor still and for no real reason we were told about, the other older lady who has too many rich suitors which seems so unlikely given the place is filled with beautiful, younger women (just speaking truths here), Sonny's financee's constant twisting (I mean dancing), I don't know, the first one was so realistic in a fantastical, dreamy way, the second one so closed in, so myopic and not grand at all. Nothing redeeming about it really outside of the actual actors for what its worth. Really too bad.
