So, at the end, the guy starts lighting a fire then they all drink the "koolaid" and they burn themselves to death? Or do they just not want their bodies to be eaten by wild animals? Or did they drink a flammable liquid and go out with a serious bang? I liked the movie but I just didn't know how they actually killed themselves. Maybe I missed it

They probably drank the koolaid which was probably poison that would quicken the death so they wouldn't be in torment, then they were set on fire so like you said they wouldnt be eaten by animals or rot.

The only thing that bothered me was that I have no idea who started the fire.

The guy who was running the suicide camp. My guess is that he then could not Put himself on fire because he drank the kool aid. :(
