Yeah...I ended up ranting about it on the Fighting Robots Association forum.
In all seriousness, have these guys never seen Robot Wars? Even if you're not a fan of that sort of robot, the presentation was top notch. It wasn't a true tournament in some ways - it was a game show - but it was presented so well that it came across as more of a tournament than Battlebots. What they did wasn't hard, either. You had heats, and various finals, all of them self-contained to at least some degree. So, watching an episode felt like you were watching a single unit of a very large competition.
These last three episodes have me wondering if the producers and editors have failed basic presentation in film school. Starting the closing credits right after a line introducing "tonight's fights"? Really?
When did we descend into amateur night?
