Tom Hiddleston

He was the perfect Thomas Sharp!

Absolutely. I can't imagine anyone else capturing Thomas Sharpe the way he did - a tragic, dark, but also sympathetic character. And Mia Wasikowska is the definitive gothic romance heroine, combining innocence with a spine of steel, she's idealistic but strong willed - they were beautiful together. Jessica Chastain was also superb in conveying her twisted and complex motivations - she was a horror, but she was a product of her heritage. Love this film.

Thomas Sharpe was too weak as a person. An unpleasant quality that was his undoing. That Hiddleston did capture in his performance.

What a childish and unimaginative thing to say mirishster96

This weird and gothic tale had great imagery but the ghosts needed more work. There weren't that many of them; they should have had more coherent detail imo. They were still cool but they also didn't get much screen time.
