Is this based on the book "The Tower" by Richard Martin Stern ?

That was half the inspiration for The Towering Inferno.

In the novel 'The Tower' a bomb started the fire. Nne of the characters are the same. Just the premise and the title come from Stern's novel.

"What do you want me to do, draw a picture? Spell it out!"
