I don't get the hate

I don't know why people keep insisting on The Asylum, I found this film to be hilarious, but still dramatic, this highly doesn't deserve a 2.3 rating, it's so much more better than that... If this film wasn't produced by The Asylum this film would truly be rated higher than 2.3, it's real immature to rate their films a "1" based on the production company, you should rate fairly because you like the film.

First of all, people have notions based on the title. With the majority of people, it will invoke thoughts of the all-white, all-American family of the 1957-63 television program Leave It to Beaver. But when people found out it's just another Tyler Perry-esque film mass-marketed to a black audience with a co-opted title reminiscent of something else, they are going to deride it.

On the other hand, I was personally hoping, based on its title, that it was a low-budget horror comedy with trashy Z-list actors and cheap production values. I really wouldn't have cared if there were some black people in it - as long they got chopped up with all the other folk. I am a firm believer in equality.

Holy cr@p Otkon, you should be writing movies. Cleaver Family reunion would be an awesome title for a slasher...

Not that original though, since it was my first thought as well that this movie was a slasher. I mean why call it *cleaver*?

OMGosh! I just read this and it's sooo funny! I now understand .. Yes, one would think a film by The Asylum named, "cleaver" could very well be a slasher flick! Thanks for the laugh! I totally needed that! XOXO!!

Also, The Asylum is known mostly for making Mockbusters (parodies of whatever is coming to theaters), sex-related comedies and creature features. So that adds to it.
