Barney Thompson / Sweeney Todd

I watched The Legend of Barney Thomson yesterday and I enjoyed it a lot. It was such a hilarious and entertaining black comedy. The three main cast members gave really good performances, especially Emma Thompson. But as I was watching Barney's acts alongside his mother, they gave me a feeling that the film and the books that it's based on, had a Sweeney Todd inspiration all over it. Barney as a modern day barber and serial killer along with Cemolina I thought they were a lit bit inspired by the characters of Sweeney Todd and his partner in crime Mrs.Lovett!! They had some similarities at least....Thoughts....?!?!
