Non fiction turns fiction

The movie was good/ok.

I hate when a movie starts off as a non-fiction then turns fiction.

Like any movie, you want to guess/undterstand what is happeneing. Unfortunately, I went an hour trying to logically piece together what is happening. After the mother explains her son's gift, the first hour I invested in the movie is thrown out the window. #Blown

It's not based on any true events. It's all fiction.

indeed, I assume the original poster meant "realistic fiction" turning into "non-realistic fiction"

I can understand preferring a realistic story, something you can actually believe could happen, but the thing with a surprise twist is just that, it has to be a surprise. it does of course mean a risk of alienating some of the audience, but that's always a risk even without using a twist

A lot of movies that start off as violent often turn supernatural. Sometimes it's a plot twist in the middle (like in this film...which I kind of liked. Nice little twist). Other times it's a franchise change, like the friday the 13th series. Jason wasn't considered supernatural until like the 3rd or 4th film. Previously, he was just a strong psycho!

The Antichrist is real and I thought that this was making Ed Gein (who was the inspiration for Psycho and other horror movies) was turned into the Antichrist in this movie.
