The mother didn't die of slit wrists. The father killed her and that was the first time he brought her/someone back to life. So not sure why they showed her death being the suicide. (If that was the mother with the Rosary Beads).

I think it was supposed to be how a person 'last' died. His mother slit her wrists the last time as far as we know. She didn't die by burning herself. She lived... He couldn't breathe into her to heal the burns.
