I am not clear on that because I thought the mother said it was a girl. Plus I don't hear well and I paused it before I heard the answer on how he was doing. So I never really got an answer on if the baby was a boy.

there was a line where Sarah said it must be a boy because "a girl could never be so cruel" referring to the baby kicking, but I don't recall the gender ever being mentioned beyond that, even after the baby was born

I was thinking obviously that baby will take on his traits but it could be a girl and inherit them as well.
