This movie reaffirms my decision to invest in big tobacco

These people can't afford a hot water heater, yet the majority of the family is puffing away, including the children. Easy money.

Yea . That's what I was thinking.. These people are pouring hot water into a tub to take baths but let's spend at least 5-6$ on cigarettes?? Thank god they don't live in NYC here where it's about 14$ a pack.. They would be living only for ciggs lol

THERES NO ROOM IN MY CIRCUS TENT FOR YOU !!!!

reply

The further south you go, the cheaper the cigarettes are (or were, at one point)
I had a friend that traveled for work and always brought back cartons of cigarettes for friends/family because they were half the price!

reply

I live in Texas. I don't smoke, but the prices for your standard name brands are well over $6 a pack.

reply

I haven't bought cigarettes in at least 10 years. But, $6 is a lot less than where I live! $4 less a pack sure adds up.
Then again, the last time I boughg cigarettes they were $2.99 - $3.99

reply

I agree. Priorities way out of whack.

I don't smoke and never have. But if your life was this miserable, you'd take little joys any where you can get them. I don't really resent them for needing something to make the time pass. Of course, the bigger issue is they all start out life so behind the eight ball and never learn the value of delayed gratification. Or how investing in themselves can make life so much better. They just never learn so many basic tools of life that we all take for granted.

Bump.

Oh look, more poor bashing on this board. As if there wasn't enough already.

reply

How is it poor bashing? It's bad decision bashing, well deserved.
