Differences between book and movie (SPOILERS)

I'm keen to know what ways the film was different from the book. There were two older women sitting in front of me at the theater. As the film ended, I overheard one of them say to the other that there were some key differences. I believe she said that one of them was that the police were not involved in the book version. I'm wondering if this is true, and if so, What other ways the book and film are different from one another.

In the book, Tom met hannah on the boat to Aus by saving her from some pervy guy. So when hannah recognises him in front of isobel it makes her even angrier at the betrayal.
Isobel and Tom first have a conversation while she's feeding the birds. I think they went for the locking eyes moment instead.
They spend longer in the book looking at his role as keeper.
And they look at the life of the guy who discovers the rattle and his decision with his mom at dobbing the couple in.
Other than that... Not much!

In the book Isabel actually suffers two miscarriages and a stillbirth, so her despair and desperation are even more palpable.

The book had a lot more about Hannah's tough time trying to make her daughter feel at home when she came back.

The scene at the end of the movie when Isobel ran to meet Tom at the harbour wasn't in the book, was it..?
