Started off like 'Before I disappear'

I honestly thought it was that film serialised. But then of course it went off on a tangent. Maybe there is a copyright infringement you think? Hmmm.

You mean the "reluctant father meeting his child" concept? It really isn't that new or original on its own. Pretty much like "family on a farm", "crew of spaceship visiting planets" or "detective solves mysterious murder".

No, you fool. The film I'm talking about starts off with the uncle in a bath about to top himself when his sister calls asking if he can look after the kid. The uncle reluctantly agrees and then is lumbered with the child as he goes about his business.

Feel stupid now don't you?

MY OTHER CAR IS WONDER WOMAN!!

And even that is just coincidence, since the trope of the middle aged lonely guy who has enough of life as the exact opposite of the caring family father might blow your tiny imagination, but is way too common. As is the idea of that father being a musician or failed actor, or a successful businessman who has no time for kids. The kid is usually smart beyond its age (so pretty much the exact opposite of you) or won't behave, sometimes both.
Which makes sense in the light that a movie has to create an arc, limiting what is possible significantly, and someone being in the perfect situation to raise a child then getting a child, who does everything as told, makes it rather difficult to create something interesting. Although this situation might be established by the second turning point around three quarters in the the screenplay. At that point either someone else tries to get the child from the father (like: the state or the mother's family), or some other problem arises, like criminals, evil business partners... there really is nothing which has not been there before, but apparently a lot you just have never seen before.

But I am sure once you are grown up, you'll see how limited you horizon is at this point of your life.
