I can't help liking this show

Every time Gary Breakfast shows up, I get Roger Cline's alternative "Canada" lyrics stuck in my head - "Yeah the good guys and Quebecois, we never work past noon no way, we sit side by side talkin' goofy, makin' fun of Newfies, and drink beer, eh".

And Jason gets the best lines -
"Don't judge us! We're from the city!"
Jason: "Yeah, We AutoShare!"

"It's pronounced Ter-RENCE. He changed it after he dropped out of my PhD program. It used to be pronounced Derrick."

Canadans are too funny.

There are a lot of funny Canadians. There are a lot of funny Canadians on this show (not the main couple). This show is not funny... To not just be critical - suggestions: the main couple should commit to their characters and absolutely not try to be funny (they will end up being funny then), the comedians (a lot of them are very funny), should take some actual acting classes - and again, commit to their characters - give them soul, and then they will be funny for a television series that does not have a live audience (or have a laugh track (not a big fan of laugh tracks, but don't negate them either)). David Brent (Ricky Gervais), Baldrick (Tony Robinson), Damon Wayans, Kevin Hart, Roseanne, Bernie Mac, Hugh Laurie, Stephen Fry, Sacha Baron Cohen, Tinay Fey, Anna Faris, Amy Poehler, Whoopi Goldberg, Kristen Wiig, Jim Carrey, Mike Myers, Andy Kaufman, Eddie Murphy, Richard Pryor... I'm sorry, I'm forgetting so many, women, men, all different colours and races who have done various series (and films and live comedy); they all give soul to their characters, beauty, life... Canada can do better - way better - I don't mean than everyone else, I mean than what is being produced right now in Canada.

It needs work but it's improving; I am enjoying it so far.

Weird how people talk about "Canadian TV" like it's all one homogenous mass. Every show is different. I mean, are you going to compare something like Orphan Black or Lost Girl to Corner Gas or Satisfaction? There is good and bad.

I could see why some would not like Satisfaction but it's sad that some users seem compelled to convince those who like it that they are wrong. Why even waste your time on this discussion if you hate it? So weird.

I still don't know what to think of it. I started watching because of Luke Macfarlane and I like Luke and Leah, playing the Jason/Maggie. They work really well together in an adorkable way. It feels as if they are not desperately trying to be funny, which makes them sweet and funny.

It took a while to like the other characters, like Gary and Simon. For some reason Gary reminds me a bit of Gummer from 'Tremors' (played by Michael Gross). I know that they are nothing alike, but he does remind me of him.

The only character I just can't warm up to is Mark. I think that, I no longer see the humor in this '30-something-acting-like-a-hormonal-14-year-old'-act. I always just want to tell him to get his act together and grow up! I suppose that childlike behaviour should be 'the charm' of Mark, but I'd charmed out.

I like it too. It’s a funny show, entertaining and cute. I like the characters, the show makes me laugh, so I'll keep tuning in.

I'm surprised how low the score is for this on IMDB. It's hardly classic comedy but it's substantially better than something like 2 Broke Girls (which is one of very few sitcoms that I consider unwatchably bad) or even Two and a Half Men (which is vastly over-rated and I was amazed that it didn't get cancelled after one or two seasons).

I actually hadn't realised this was Canadian till I came here. Maybe that's why it's a bit more watchable. I don't normally like Canadian TV much but I'm so sick of the mindless laughter-track crap that most American sitcoms seem to be.
