Collecting his semen/sperm: Why did they videotape it?
I know why they were collecting the semen (to create more whales with his DNA), but why did they videotape it? What were they planning to do with that video exactly?
shareEither for their records, their artificial insemination research, to show at trainer conferences to teach other facilities how to do it or filming the method to show new trainers how to do the procedure.
I've also seen similar footage of another of their whales being used for semen extraction in a documentary on DNA/genome banking done by zoos.
Or maybe just for trainer funsies.
