All of this time, I thought he got her by the ponytail and thrashed her around a bit before drowning her. Now I watch this and it says that he was eating her? I didn't hear that in the media. I can't believe he's still performing there. It seems all they care about is money. Not the whales or the families of the victims. So very depressing.
He didn't eat her; the portion in the doc that says that was a recording from a panicking SeaWorld staff member who didn't have all the facts and was just told to ring 911 because of an attack.
Tilikum is presumed to have grabbed Dawn by her shoulder/upper arm area and pulled her into the water. He didn't eat her but he did ram her several times and scalp her (which was recovered from the bottom of the tank).
tilikum is not performing anymore he is kept in the pen (the A pool) in the back, by himself....he goes in the "lunch with shamu" tank by himself, and there is no shade awning for him.....(people can see him through the underground windows).
very little interaction with the trainers and there is always a barrier between them for safety.
here is a detailed article about him and the set up of all the tanks....Tilikim has a fungal infection that is slowly killing him....

Old news. He's doing a lot better, has put on weight, and even briefly appeared in a couple of shows. He's also been spotted with Katina, Makaio and Malia in the last few weeks, as well as his usual companion, Trua.
If you want to think SeaWorld are lying about him putting on weight or whatever, that's your business, but there are multiple videos from park guests of him performing throughout the last couple of months. If he was still near death he wouldn't physically be able to perform that often.
I'm not a pro cap. I'm very much anti-captivity (for cetaceans at least), but I don't believe that SeaWorld lie about everything regarding the whales.
just because seaworld said it, doesn;t make it true....kili had a chronic worstening lung infection that got worse over time that was going to kill him..
seaworld lied about his teeth, saying they were bad when they first got him...there are pictures showing his teeth were much better back then.
so if they lie about something that is so EASY to verify, well... I am skeptical of what else they have to say
