I don't think a relationship between Maya and Lucas would be any more relevant than what's happening with Riley and Lucas, which is basically nothing.

Maya and Farkle - there's the real chemistry! Augie and Ava - that's this generations' Cory and Topanga! And Topanga and Ava are Cory's mother and Topanga !

Maya is never going to date Lucas. Riley and Lucas are not going to stay together. No one is ever going to date Farkle, but Smackle.

Except, one of the whole points of Farkle is that Farkle will never choose between Riley and Maya. There is no evidence that anything with Riley and Farkle will ever happen. It will never happen.

I think the same thing is going to happen with the girls and Lucas. He is just going to not be dating either of them and it will be left at that.

Of course, if you want to think that they might be together ten years down the road, go for it. The show will never go that far. I just, personally, think that is out of character.

I wonder how the show would have gone had Riley and Farkle been best friends instead of Riley and Maya. I'm not saying that Maya and Riley wouldn't have been friends, but just had Farkle and Riley be the ones that are really close. Almost like how Joey and Dawson were supposed to be best friends on Dawson's Creek but Dawson was also close with Pacey.

Anyway, had they written it were Riley and Farkle were best friends, we could have had more interaction between Cory and Topanga and Minkus, which would have been a plus. Riley still could have dated Lucas and Farkle and Maya could have eventually ended up together (because, those two would be able to take over the world if they ever did actually get together). It could have been interested to explore the boy-girl friendship and how it compared and contrasted to what Cory and Topanga had when they were growing up, but then you would also have the female relationship of Riley and Maya when there needed to be a girl-talk kind of scene.

Personally, I would have loved that a lot more because we likely would have had more of the adults, which I want, and we might actually get to see Cory and Topanga in a relationship other than the roommate thing they seem to have going on right now. I also think that a boy-girl friendship has the potential to bring on many different topics than just "oh look at how we are the best friends that there ever were in the world ever" storyline for Riley and Maya that seems to be every episode lately.

Farkle is like brother and sister with both Riley and Maya. That is why there is no coupling going on with between the girls and Farkle. It is more complicated with Lucas, but Maya will never date Lucas, and Riley and Lucas will be broken up by the end of the season and that will be that.

Farkle is brother /sister to Riley - but there is much deeper attraction between Farkle and Maya - nothing like brother/sister. Farkle/Maya may not be dating by the end of the season, but it is inevitable.

Farkle will never date anyone but Smackle because who ends up with whom is not what this show is about. The girls are not going to date around in the group. That is not going to happen ever.

Farkle/Maya are definitely attracted to each other - (Farkle, Obviously) and Maya shows that attraction, but is continuing to hold back. Farkle/Maya is inevitable.

Maya and Farkle could of worked if this show had a plan but it's almost like they never decided if Riley and Lucas were meant to be together and since that stayed unresolved Maya Lucas is still lingering as well as the Maya Riley shippers.

It's hard to believe these are the same who gave us Corey and Topanga.

Maya/Lucas is done for good - the possibility may be used again, but that is pointless because the possibility is gone forever. The Riley/Maya shippers are nothing but trolls trying to start a ruckus - there's not a chance it will happen on Disney, nor is there the slightest reason to even suggest it - except to cause trouble.

No, it's not. As long as Riley/ Lucas continues to flounder and show no real spark the possibility remains that was never the end game.

The date Maya and Lucas had wasn't real. The feelings they had for each other weren't suppose to come out but did under duress then Riley forced them to explore it. Both knew it couldn't happen for obvious reasons and tanked it.

Maybe the season finale will change my mind but as if now they're either telling the worse love story ever told or building to a Lucas Maya ending. It can happen once Riley and Lucas's flame is extinguished but not until then.

They haven't shown Riley/Lucas "floundering" at all - but they have shown Riley being scared and upset at the possibility that Maya likes him again...The flame can't extinguish without the thought that Maya stepped in and broke them up (Of course they did change the story line in mid-triangle when they said that they had both tried dating Lucas when Maya had never done that - the triangle started with Riley watching Lucas and Maya flirting until she decided she had to step back and push them together - and went through a lot of misery doing so. They never did tell us what happened on the roof on New Year's eve with the three of them on the bench - after everyone else had run for their lives. There's no realistic way for them to do it. Riley and Maya are simply too close..I think most likely, the problem will come up and Lucas will move back to Texas to avoid hurting either one of them again (Girl Meets Goodbye ?). And I can't help but think that that would be a great ending for Season 3 and open wide the doors for Season four.

The triangle started at Girl Meets Texas where Maya's feelings for Lucas became evident, and then you get into Riley forcing the deal but you're right on the rest and I seemingly missed a few episodes. Looking at what I missed there's some wiggle room to go back there but I think you're right Maya Lucas is over.

Girl Meets Goodbye is going to be the Matthews moving and the possibility of the greatest friendship to ever exist being broken apart.

The triangle started at Girl Meets Texas where Maya's feelings for Lucas became evident, and then you get into Riley

Maya's feelings for Lucas appeared to start at the campfire in Texas (that Riley pushed them into) But those feelings for Lucas didn't become evident until New Year's Eve - when the man of the group - Farkle - saved the friendship and the group with his courage to face the danger and putting HIS friendships with everyone on the line by revealing the truth. And then they stretched it out for months with no real comments and suddenly changing it completely with the claim that Maya and Riley had both dated Lucas (Maya NEVER dated Lucas and HE has to choose between them ?), while they remained very close friends ?!?) Can you possibly believe that two very attractive, very close friends - 13-14 year old girls would be peacefully making s boy choose between them!?! Do you believe that they could or would still be very close friends, each worried about finding a way to avoid hurting the other ?!?

Girl Meets Goodbye is going to be the Matthews moving and the possibility of the greatest friendship to ever exist being broken apart.

That would be a series finale - but - in "Girl Meets Legacy", they (Riley and Maya) are adults and Maya is visiting Riley in the same room in the same apartment, so I don't see that happening. It's hard to imagine the Matthews family uprooting Riley, Augie, and Cory (and Topanga?) for any reason including moving for the benefit of Topanga - because moving really couldn't be for the benefit of any one of them - except Topanga - and she isn't that selfish..

Maya's feelings for Lucas became evident when he rode the bull against her wishes. That's when Rowan knew something was up and broke Maya down into admitting her feelings for him. Then she tells Lucas at the fireplace. They have the awkward sort of date which Maya was holding back on. Then you get into the New Year's show where it's clear they have to figure this out after Riley caught them flirting.

I should probably catch up on a few episodes and rewatch them though. Some of it is fuzzy to me.

No - Riley's feelings that something was going on between them had begun before that with the innocent flirting between the two. Riding the bull against her wishes ? No, that simply demonstrated fear for the safety of a close friend - they had both been worried about Riley's pushing them together and did not understand it - it was NOT until the campfire scene that any attraction of any kind was noticed - and said attraction was not shown in any way until midnight on New Year's eve - concern about Riley pushing them, certainly - but no attraction of any kind before New Year's Eve, which was very strong until Farkle revealed the truth..Then it became the problem that they never referred to nor did they ever give any explanation of how they solved it.

I dont know why there is such a slow progression with Lucas and Riley. if they're gonna date, let them date. I personally dont want to see any relationship between Lucas and Maya. i do recall seeing on Twitter #GMWwriters were doing a Q/A and someone asked about the Lucas Maya interest and the writers responded "we are not done with that" dont know what that means.

someone asked about the Lucas Maya interest and the writers responded "we are not done with that" dont know what that means.

The harm they did to the series with the first Lucas/Maya triangle soap opera will, hopefully, given the disastrous effect (the only realistic effect) that yet another would have, make the final use of of that interest the FINAL use thereof. Josh coming to Maya's sixteenth birthday with a date, Lucas's taking her off alone to comfort her, upsetting Riley, Farkle comforting Riley (and they discover that they are brother/sister interest, and Lucas/Maya not getting involved because of their other commitments winding up with Lucas moving back to Texas permanently to prevent himself from hurting them even more - (and Peyton does look a lot older than the rest of them doesn't he ?) That would be much better than Lucaya starting anew which would mean the end of the friendship of Riley and Maya at best - it's a bad, bad idea, much, much worse than the original. The door to even more misery would open wide.

Augie and Ava are clearly the Cory/Topanga relationship - and there's no chemistry left for Maya/Lucas - 1) it'd destroy the Riley/Maya friendship and 2) they've actually already signed it off - but things have risen from the dead in the past , so who knows ? But the idea of Riley deciding she loves someone else (like Farkle)?!?! so its alright with her if Lucas and Maya have decided that he'll break up with her and be with Maya and all will be fine is just plain ridiculous - it could never happen. The only real chemistry available is Farkle/Maya - they've been preparing something for a while - mostly Smackle flirting with every male in sight (except Farkle) - along with Farkle looking at Zay and Maya with a lot of hurt in his eyes..
