GMW 2 Morgans in Finale...

In the finale of GMW Morgan is lesbian and she married another Morgan, the original Morgan from BMW. Riley addresses both of them as aunt Morgan so it's never specified which Morgan is which.

reply

Is this a theory or have you seen the episode?

reply

OP is full of it. They're both treated as Morgan, with no explanation as to whether they're supposed to be two separate people or not, but have a couple of jokes about the role switch. It's a whole meta thing, something cheesy that you just have to go with.

Someone ever tries to kill you... you try to kill em right back.

reply

Is the bold the joke, or is that your sig?

I would laugh my ass off

reply

You can see both of them in the group shot in the finale promo at the end of this weeks episode.

reply

That actually...makes a lot of sense. Huh.

reply

That's actually pretty clever and hope that's the case. But it'll be clear which one is which depending on who Cory refers to as his sister. The other would be his in-law, and it's likely the Morgan by Lindsey Ridgeway would likely be the Morgan Matthews since she was the last to play her and for consistency.

reply

Neither are definitely identified as THE Morgan, their biological sister/aunt (or both are, depending on how you choose to see it). I have seen the ep, so this is the rough explanation of how it plays out... Augie refers to Lily as Aunt Morgan when she starts talking to him, but Lindsay steps in and carries on the conversation, then Augie, followed by Lily, make a joke about being replaced, so it's not clarified if one or the other (or both due to the 4th wall bending meta humor) is his biological aunt, and the only other reference is Josh gesturing towards both of them and saying "my sister".

Someone ever tries to kill you... you try to kill em right back.

reply

So are they like really a couple in that episode like the OP is suggesting?

reply

No, they are not a couple. They are just two actors playing the same part. They even trade places at one point and Auggie makes a joke about it.

reply

I got done watching the episodes hours ago after I posted that comment. As funny as it is, I wish they handled it more realistically and pulled off the couple thing like they did on Good Luck Charlie that the OP suggested. If this show were to continue, how would they pull off another Morgan appearance? Just have both women pop up again? Rather a stretch.

What episode was this?

reply

Lily Nicksay is the one that wanted to come back to the show in the first place. She deserves the title of a sister. Lindsey Ridgeway is just ugh.

reply

Well they managed to get both of them back so there's a plus. No sure why Lindsey wouldn't have wanted to come back. It's understandable if she was busy at the time but if Lily been wanting to come back the whole time, they should have used her and been brought Morgan into the picture. I'd figure they'd pull a Roseanne and constantly switch her like they did with the actresses for Becky Connor and that was ridiculous.

reply

I think it was the closing credits of the first episode of Rosanne with the new Becky where they're all watching Bewitched. Everyone commented that the first Darren was better, but the new Becky said she liked the second one.

reply

Yeah, and then in the closing credits of the Season 8 premiere episode, they did a spoof off "The Patty Duke Show" opening where they had the two Becky actresses together and it sung how "They look-alike and abruptly leave the show alike". You can find it on Youtube here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xGza-mNlM6o.

The second Becky came to the door for trick or treat once too. The second Becky never fit the show and was the absolute worst casting that show ever did. I don't know what they were thinking.

Yeah, I read about that too, that was in Season 8. I have to check that episode out.

The second Becky was alright to me and she at least resembled the first one. Can't say that about a lot of recastings I see. I just hate they brought Lecy back since Sarah already grew into the character and even in the same season felt the need to bring Sarah back as Becky during Lecy's run in Season 8 and just make things confusing. All that did was limit Lecy's time as the character in the already limited time she had during that season as it is. It was pointless even making her a regular if she was barely going to have a spotlight. The same goes for Sarah's regular status in Season 9 and she was absent a lot.

reply

It was more that that Becky did not know how to act like a person that was from a working class family. She wasn't a regular person and she was too conventionally pretty. That just didn't work. She wasn't funny and wasn't normal. Even the way they had the second Becky dress just didn't work for the character. It was a mess from start to finish.

reply

Hmm, I guess I can see where you're coming from. She did come off as quite bland to me almost like old Becky lost a piece of her soul. But at least they got some one that looked like Lecy. It can be difficult for a new actor to jump in and act like the first one. They naturally change the character and then Sarah is also acting on what's written down for her to be in the script so that's another factor.

reply

It was more like she was mean rather then sarcastic. The entire show is really sarcastic and the second Becky just didn't know how to do that.
