Hard to watch for a woman

I'm a big horror fan, have seen a lot (a lot) of them and some very disturbing once. But the rape/torture scenes make me sick to my stomach!! I think it's because I'm a girl and I know these things happen in real life! (I know other stuff do too) but somehow this is so much harder to watch. Other people feel the same way?
