I thought it would be funnier.

It wasn't terrible, but pretty bland. It has funny parts, but (spoiler) Gary Cole's dong and cgi vomit were the main gonzo laughs. The rapport between the characters didn't flow very well and the one-liners were kinda poorly timed. It was okay, but the trailer made it look a lot better than it was.

It was bland because the parents didn't even achieve what they set out to do. They kinda went with, oh my 16-17 y/o APPARENTLY can make life-altering decisions on a whim. Fuck those spoiled brats.
This whole thing about letting your spoiled brats do w/e the fuck they want pissed me off like crazy.

For generations, children told their parents, "When I grow up, I'll let my kids do whatever they want." Then, they grew up and realized that is a stupid idea.

The time finally came when we hit the inflection point.

Society is pretty much on a downhill grade from this point on, until the meteor comes to hit the cosmic reset button.

This was my 500th post!

Totally agree.

Watched it last night. That movie was BAD.

reply

it wasn't bad, but a disappointment. It could have been a good 80s style comedy, but it was forced in many ways. I don't know why they hire Leslie Mann, all she does is this pointlessly vulgar humor. And the way those girls talked, I've watched porn movies with more decent language.

reply

Are you seriously complaining about the vulgarity of an R rated comedy that bragged about being vulgar in it's marketing strategy? Are you developmentally disabled? And this isn't new, R rated comedies in the 80's were just as raunchy as this if not more.

reply

MMMM, no... 80s R comedies were raunchy, but there is such a thing as too much.

reply

Hmm I don't even remember the language being that bad although it's been a while since I watched it.
