Anyone think of Funny Games when they read the plot for this movie?

My immediate thought was "Oh my, what an original idea.". I'm presuming* this won't be another yawn-fest home invasion film that I've seen several times before. I doubt it will reach Haneke's standards whatever the outcome.

I thought of 'The Purge'

Yup, but when I watch Funny Games if makes me think of Curfew (1989). When I watch Curfew, it makes me think of The Penthouse (1967).

Probably Funny Games without the self-awareness. Like Kidnapped (which actually had no kidnapping in it, grim movie, though.)

I thought of Panic room as soon as I read this plot.
