Why don't you ask them? Also, if you did not reply there would be no confrontation would there? It is an aggressive response which is often to blame, with the throwing of personal insults. But for some people this is all they have.

I don't like horror films and I used to hate Alien, now I love it (and it is a horror film). If I took your view on film Alien wouldn't now be one of my favourite films. Luckily for me I'm actually open minded about things and don't simply shut my brain off to that which isn't my usual cup of tea.
