And just like that, the Game of Thrones creators are without a Star Wars franchise. In a new report from Deadline, David Benioff and D.B. Weiss have revealed they're no longer attached to an upcoming Star Wars trilogy, intended to explore an all-new corner of the Star Wars universe. The writers claim in a statement provided to the trade their new exclusive deal with Netflix is a major proponent of the switch. The first movie in the pair's trilogy was scheduled for release in 2022 and it's uncleared if the trilogy dates will be postponed or replaced by a new creative team.
you can't quit, they were hired to produce and write a trilogy. They could be sued by breach of contract with Disney/LF.
JJ was under contract at Paramount , anytime they hired JJ , they paid Paramount 10 million for using him outside his contract.
And they cited their contract with Netflix as their reason for leaving. So will this lead to Disney vs Netflix? People just quit sometimes.

shareThey probably would have been fine at the at the job but decided it wasn't worth dealing with the SW fandom and their impossible standards. It makes sense, someone else will do the job without baggage.
