Very Little Marketing
Disney might have another SOLO bomb on their hands
shareHonestly I think the best thing for Disney right now is to just wrap up this whole Rey story and then take a break, sit down and take their time before they start making more Star Wars movies (if they do at all, I am totally OK with just throwing in the towel) and make sure they actually write a quality script.
shareTV spot yesterday, from D23 preview.
shareTwo TV spots! That's major marketing.

Probably for the best. I think it's a smart strategy, all things considered. You see, the more they push it, the more excitement builds. Even people who don't like the ST will be wondering about how they're going to wrap it all up. And this way, it's easier to disappoint people. If they keep it under the radar for long enough they have a higher chance of most people reacting positively to it (so long as it isn't total crap).
shareThat's just it, it WILL be total crap.
I don't know about that. True, Abrams has a way of rehashing things, but at least he knows how to make an entertaining movie.
shareAbrams also doesn't know how to FINISH movies, and this is one HELL of a finish!
True, true. But even so, I'm confident it will be a big step up from The Last Jedi. It has to be or Star Wars dies right here. It would be the biggest movie tragedy of the 21st century, especially because The Force Awakens was so promising (even if it was a rehash of A New Hope).
shareIt'll ramp up around Thanksgiving time.
